Embracing Change: A Christianโ€™s Guide to the New Year

As a modern Christian, I can relate to the challenges of living in a world that is constantly changing. It can be easy to get caught up in the past and forget to look forward. However, as Christians, we are called to live in the present and to trust in Godโ€™s plan for our lives. In Isaiah 43:18-19, God says, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."ย  This verse reminds us that God is always doing something new in our lives, and that we should be open to the changes that He brings. I personally have had a difficult time with remembering that God is in control and that the things of the past should be left there.ย  But, when I read this verse, it reminds me of something someone said to me a long time ago, maybe it was in bootcamp, I don't remember, but they said "Head up, eyes forward! No looking back."ย  As long as we continue to do that, we can't see the pain we are leaving behind us.ย ย

As we move into the new year, let us remember to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and to trust in His plan for our lives. Let us not be afraid of the changes that come our way, but instead embrace them with faith and hope. As it says in Isaiah 40:31 "Those who hopeย in theย Lordย will renew their strength. They willย soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint."ย ย Keep this in mind as you begin your journey into a new year and have a happy and blessed 2024!
